We understand, that looking for a wedding photographer can be a daunting process and that you will have lots of questions. And rightly so, you need to make sure that the photographer you book is the right one for you. To help get you started in your search, we have provided a detailed FAQ for you to help answer some of the most popular questions that we receive. If you have any questions that are not listed below, then please drop us a message on the contact page and we will give you all the information we can.
+ What areas do you cover?
Although based in Derbyshire, we regularly shoot weddings all over the UK. We are also available for destination weddings and having travelled all around the world for our couples. Our most recent was Barcelona and have been as far a field as California and Australia in the last 12 months.
+ How long have you been professional photographers?
We both started in the photography world around 15 years ago and have been shooting professionally for the last 10 years.
+ How much do you charge?
Our pre-arranged packages start from as little as £750.00 and go right up to around £2500.00 but if one of our packages doesn't fit your needs then we are more than happy to create a bespoke package just for you. Just ask.
+ Are there ever any hidden charges?
Never! The price we agree on is the price you will be charged. This is of course inclusive of all your photos. The only additions to a package price would be any upgrades to your album or any add ons. These will, again, be pre-arranged and there will never be any charges on top.
+ How long until we get our photos back?
We work to a deadline of 4 weeks from the wedding date. We generally deliver well before this and if for any reason you need them sooner, all you have to do is ask and we can work with you to meet your deadline. You will always be sent a gallery link once your photos are ready.
+ Do the photographers need feeding on the day?
We never demand food from our couples but if this is an available option then of course, we'd love to have a 10 minute break to restock on some much needed energy supplies. We are more than happy to eat whatever is on offer, whether it be the same as you're eating, or just a couple of sandwiches, either way, we'll be forever grateful. If you are able to provide food for us, then it is ideal to get this while you are being served your main course. This will give us enough time to have a small break and be ready for your speeches.
+ We are quite nervous in front of the camera, how can we overcome this?
This is more common than you might think and we have to overcome this with our couples on a regular basis. We have found that the most effective way to shake the camera shyness is to add an engagement shoot to your package (if the package you choose doesn't already include one) I know this sounds like a daunting prospect but it gives you a chance to get used to us taking photos of you without the added pressures of your wedding day. It also lets you get to know how we work too, and also lets us see how you interact with each other as a couple. In short, it gives us all a chance to get used to spending time with each other with cameras involved. They are very relaxed and always an incredibly fun day. And the added bonus is that you'll also get a set of great images. After getting to know each a little better during the engagement shoot, when it comes to the actual day, you can just relax knowing how we'll be going about taking your photos.
+ What if we lose our photos?
The first thing is to not panic. You will be sent a link to an online private gallery with all your photos. You will always be able to retrieve them from there. If the internet were to implode and disappear from existence then we always keep hard drive backups of the photos we take, so, if anything ever happened to your copies and the online ones, we can provide you with a new set at no extra cost!
+ Will you be with the Bride or the Groom in the morning?
This is where you don't even have to make a choice. The major benefit of having 2 photographers is that we can be in both places at once. Capturing the guys and the girls getting ready. If you don't want coverage of one, then we can both be with the other. Its entirely up to you.
+ Do you take any formal shots
With our style focusing on the natural elements of your day and shooting it with a documentary approach, we normally keep formal shots to a minimum. This free's up lots more time for your guests to relax and enjoy themselves but also to keep with a more modern style of photography. That being said, we will always do what we can to provide you with the shots you want. We will put aside approximately 15 to 20 minutes for group shots, but if you want us to spend longer on these, then we can do.
+ Does your website show the only album choices?
No. Album choices vary from cover materials, to colours, to page thickness, to page numbers to sizes etc etc. The choices are almost limitless and as such would just scare people away if we listed everything. This is something best done when we sit down together to go through your album design. We can then show you lots of different sample albums and you can pick the best elements of each for your bespoke design.
+ What if it's raining on the day?
As silly as it sounds, for photographers, changing weather conditions can be a good thing. Yes we may not be getting out the sunscreen, but it does give us an opportunity to get more creative and give you some amazingly different shots from the norm. Umbrellas are a must and really make a shot look special when its raining. Check out Marc & Emma's gallery for a few examples.
+ How long does it take for the family photos?
We usually set aside about 15 to 20 minutes for these so as not to keep your guests hanging around but if you want to spend longer on these then we are more than happy to do so.
+ What if your camera breaks?
This is a common question and its easily answered. We always carry back up equipment, so if one breaks, then we have something else to use. We shoot with 2 cameras each and always have another 2 back up cameras so this is something that is not a concern for us.
+ What if we want to add an album after we've received the photos?
You can purchase a wedding album at any time you like, whether its a week or a year after your wedding day. We always keep your files backed up so we can design one for you on request. All our album prices are listed on the album page.
+ How many photos will we get?
This depends on a number of factors. Sometimes we provide 200 photos, sometimes we provide 700 photos. It mainly depends on how long we are shooting for, how long the evening celebrations go on for and also how many you would like. Some people feel overwhelmed getting too many which detracts from the overall final experience. Some people want as many as possible. Our ethos on this is that if we have lots of amazing photos, you may as well have them. They are of no use to us just sat on the computer. On average, for a full days coverage with 2 photographers, we would look at providing you with between 400 and 700 photos. This may sound like a lot compared to some other photographers but there are 2 of us and there's no use letting great photos go to waste.
+ Do we get all our pictures in the price?
Yes. One thing we do not do is hold your photos to ransom. The price you pay includes all your photos on a disc and also on a private online gallery. You will never be charged extra for more photos.
+ We can't see a package that suits our needs, can you help?
Yes of course we can. Our packages show the most common requirements based on budget but, if you don't see one that fits, then we can get together and provide a bespoke package for you.
+ Are you insured?
Yes. We are fully insure against public liability for any venue we attend. Sometimes a church or venue may request to see our documents so if this is the case then just let us know and we can send copies of these across.
+ How do we go about booking you?
If you're thinking of booking us then thank you. You can contact us in several ways. via our contact page on this site, our email info@infinite-symmetry.com or our mobiles phones (you'll find our numbers on the contact page). Once we have had a chat, we will arrange to come and see you to discuss the finer details and get things moving. We require a 20% non refundable deposit to secure any booking with us with the final amount dude within 1 week of the wedding date.
+ Do you take photos of just the couple?
Yes. This is one of the best parts of the day for us and often for you too! It gives you a chance to break away from the guests for half and hour and take a deep breathe. It also gives us a chance to get some beautiful photos of just the 2 of you away from the rest of the party.
+ I have a few ideas for some couples shots, do you take requests?
Of course. We will check out the locations around the venue for some great spots for photos but if you have any specific ideas in mind then we are always willing to help you out. If you have any ideas that would require prior planning like fun situational poses then try your best to let us know before the day so we can bring any other necessary equipment we may need to get your shot (props, lighting etc).
+ Who owns the copyright for the photos?
The law automatically assigns copyright for a photo with the photographer. You will however receive a licence to use each photo you receive. This means that you can use them for any printing that you might want to have done or any online media that you may use. Simply put, you can pretty much do anything you want with them other than sell them on or use them for any commercial purposes without our consent.
+ Where are you based?
We are based in Derbyshire but work all across the UK and internationally. We are more than happy to travel pretty much anywhere to meet with you before any bookings are made.
